Tried here because I seen a photo of a daily special on Facebook. Pork belly with black pudding and chorizo; I had to try it!The dish was as good as it looks, unfortunately this time I was too full to try desert here also! The service was good, it was a weekday lunch time and pretty quiet. The place had a nice atmosphere I would return here for drinks as it had a stylish bar feel. The price was very good considering the high quality of the food!
Fantastic. I have now visited Distill (formerly Ivy) on almost all my nights out to Glasgow. This is a great bar with fantastic staff with food and drinks suitable for all. Catch a few drinks pre theatre or clubbing, or make a night of it with some food, cocktails and some great DJs. I will definitely be going back!!
I’ve been going to Distill (formally called Ivy) for a while now and I’ve never been disappointed. It has a great laid back vibe, perfect for a lazy afternoon. The food is brilliant, especially the new pizzas, and they serve some of the best cocktails in Glasgow. Whoever comes up with them must be a pro as they are some of the most inventive I’ve tried. Weekend nights are great- the music is always really good and there seems to always be a decent dj playing really diverse stuff which can be rare in Glasgow! The staff are really friendly too and I’ve always found the service great. I’m so glad I found this place- it’s definitely worth my taxi fare from the Southside. Best bar in Glasgow by a mile.
Fantastic. Love the food! Staff very friendly, reasonably priced especially for the sheer quality. Regularly visit here for a drink and to chill to some great music too. Everyone should visit.
Dirty Fries indeed. My friend and i were the only ones in the restaurant, though perhaps not many people braved the snow. The staff are friendly if a bit slow on service. But the food is terrible. I ordered the roast vegetable salad and ‘dirty fries’ which is described as chips with cheese and jalapenos. Should warm me up. A couple of grates of yellow cheese topped undercooked chips. The salad was watery and looked more like a stew. The taste was OK but I was so put off I didn’t finish either dish. My friend’s fish was cold and chunky chips overcooked so they tasted of cardboard (how did that happen?!)It’s a real shame as this bar is in a great location and has a nice relaxed vibe about it. If only they cared about the food they serve – I won’t make the mistake of eating there again. The tasteless food is beaten only marginally by an awful omelette served to me at the Hillhead Book Club.
Mmmyum. Their gnocchi with chorizo is amaaaazing. 2 meals for 10 on a monday – get in!staff are always really nice too
