Located at the top end of Sauchiehall Street, I had been eager to try out Kama Sutra for quite some time. I was not disappointed. The service is excellent and there is such a wide variety to choose from on the menu. The daal makhani is superb and has a spicy edge to it. However, it is the saag paneer which really stands out – perhaps the best I’ve tasted in all of Glasgow. The restaurant has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere which is aided by the Bollywood soundtrack that plays overhead. Yes, the food is a little on the expensive side but it is worth it. If you really want to treat yourself to great Indian meal in the city centre, visit Kama Sutra.

Disappointed in our visit here. It was very full upon arriving which is a good sign. We were shown to a table we didn’t much like. There’s a sort of annexed part by the window where you miss out on the atmosphere of the restaurant. As they were full there were no other tables upstairs. No big deal though, the food is the main point. The starters were delicious! We hoovered up every crumb. The mains were delivered with a good bit of time between which was good. Sadly the waiter said he’d be right back with the pilau rice…bit never did return. The mains grew cold as we waited. We mentioned to another waitress who noted we were waiting to tuck in she went off to find out. Another bit later the manager must have caught glimpse of my sour face and came over to check. Just as he did the rice finally made an appearance. Our curries were less than warm by this point. Bit of a poor show. The garlic chicken curry itself was tasty. I noted that all of the vegetable curries on the menu were mild though. I love heat – the more the better – so to settling for mild was disappointing. To be entirely fair when I looked around everyone seemed to be enjoying things and merrily tucking in so perhaps it was just our experience that was off. There was another couple up near the annexed bit tapping the table waiting for the poppadoms they ordered ages ago but other than that people seemed to be enjoying things. Thumbs up to our chatty waitress – really friendly and lots of tips of other places to go. Worth a visit at least once. Not sure we will re-visit after them being so forgetful.

We would return here no problem. Bustling place on a weekend. Traditional Indian. Possibly the hottest Madras we have ever had. But still great. Good quality, good portions. Yep, defo would return.

I’ve eaten at many Induan restaurants in Glasgow but this is by far the best I’ve had! Great food and great staff! They have also recently purchased the Atrium Court in East Kilbride so should be good for people living on the South side

Not bad. Nice layout, atmosphere and food.Only negative thing about it would be that the chain of Harlequin restaurants (Ashoka, etc), never seem to be able to make their chicken muglai… the mildest curry EVER… mild. It still seems to make me chug my drink like it’s water. It’s all personal tastes, but they have one sauce, that they use for many different curries, and just add things to adjust it, so with the muglai they just add yogurt. It doesn’t work.I’ve started going elsewhere for my curry fix now!

Great Atmosphere. Warm welcome, good food, good service, price acceptable, what else can I say.
