If you like seafood, come here! I was disappointed that they had run out of oysters, however. Great menu, good service, excellent wine menu. It was for a special occasion and I was very happy with the result.
A St Andrews night celebration meal of four courses with three drinks for 30 – an excellent deal. Starting with Clam and Barley soup – perfect for this weather. Next up pan fried Mackeral with pickled neeps, mace Bon bons and skirlie biscuits – meaty fish and crisp skin. Juicy pheasant and kale clapshot up next and then Quince crumble with clootie dumpling ice cream. Assisted by some Hendricks Gin, Monkey Shoulder and a dram of 12 yr old Balvenie – delciousHomely food with a twist, points off for not having as much flavour as expected in the dishes.Service foodanddrinkglasgow.co.uk
Daily fish and chips. Coley in signature crumb. Good quality but not the full fillet. Homemade tartar sauce, good. Chips inconsistent, in size and stage of cooking, almost potato wedges. Presentation a bit too fussy.
Nice place. Been here a couple of times before. Small and cosy with a good choice of Gins I’m told. Personally I’m a beer drinker so I’m happy with my pint of west beer. ????Not tried the food so can’t comment. Stopped in here before my show at The Hydro.
