About
The Art School is situated opposite the historic Mackintosh building. The building opened in 1927 as a textile studio for the Glasgow School or Art, before being converted into a cafe using the remnants of the original Victoria Cafe in Glasgow Southside - hence sometimes being referred to as 'The Vic'! The vitreous marble signage was reinstated at the cafe in 2014. The Art school is a student and artist led venue. We offer space and support for a wide range of artistic and music practices. We are a non-profit business with proceeds going to Glasgow School of Art Students' Association Charity SC044061.
