A brilliant coffee shop that made me fall in love with coffee. I didn’t know an espresso could be that tasty! A good selection of teas too. Their cakes and food always hit the spot and their staff are as friendly as can be. Whenever I have a spare 30 minutes and a book to read there’s no question about where I’d be going.
Top Marks All Round. Popped in here for some breakfast and a coffee. First impressions were excellent. The whitewashed walls and modern dcor are spot on and it has a lovely ambience. My server (Sebastian) recommended the eggs cocotte and was happy to chat about the process involved in preparing their coffee and other caf related things. When the food arrived, it was well presented and a delight. The latte was also superb with a real kick yet silky smooth. To top it off, the prices were very reasonable considering where it is. So, a faultless display by people who are obviously passionate about what they do. Highly recommended.
Check the prices. The food and coffee here are good but the prices are high and please make sure you check that before ordering.4 for a bacon roll is steep for a coffee shop on Byres Road. I know they say it’s the best sourced ingredients but sadly it tasted like most other bacon rolls. The sandwich I had was 6 and again for the surroundings I found it to be right at the top of the price bracket. If I were in a restaurant or a hotel it would feel far more normal to be paying those prices but not in a cafe…….even on Byres Road.
Best coffee on byres road!! Been a few times now and it’s definitely my top choice of cafes. Had the goats cheese salad one time and it was deelish! Good selection of cakes too… great new addition to byres road!! 🙂
Coffee heaven. This place has great, great coffee the way it should be made. The food on offer is simple, but it is delicious. Had the chicken caesar sandwich which was fantastic and it was nice to see that the sandwich side items will be changed regularly. Not sure what other reviewer means when he asks what the cafe does as I assumed most cafes/restaurants will sell coffee, tea and possibly alcohol (although this place does not btw). So strange comments really. And I also found the staff to be fantastic and extremely friendly. While the place is very bright, and somewhat clinical it is a breath of fresh air from the standard walnut wood cares that are everywhere. The west end deserves a great place to get great coffee and perhaps now it has. Looking forward to how avenue g develops over the coming months and years.
