I am not a fan of Indian food but this place is an exception. It’s the best place to introduce friends to Indian cuisine in Glasgow. They put in a lot of effort into creating the ambience of a modern Indian restaurant that delivers both taste and service. The server was exceptionally well spoken unlike in most other Indian joints I visited in UK. The food was tasty and my friends loved it. A great place also for people who miss Indian food in UK. They also have a luck buffet everyday for students. I certainly recommend it to one and all.
For a place called Masala Twist, there’s very little masala in their food. The food is far from authentic and most of the buffet dishes taste like the frozen food from Iceland. On the up side, the buffet is really cheap and you get a discount it you’re a student. Would only recommend if you’re willing to compromise on quality for quantity.
Indian cuisine isn’t really my favourite food so when we go out for it we like to know we are going to a good place. Really enjoyed Masala Twist last night. The staff were friendly, the food was really tasty. It was a Saturday and there were loads of people waiting to get seated which is a good sign of the popularity of the place. At one point there were around 15 people standing in the doorway whilst the poor staff did their best to seat them in a close to full place. But they seemed happy to wait knowing a good meal was in store. My other half had the South Indian Garlic and Chilli Chicken curry which was lovely and really filling – good kick to it too. I had one of the many veggie options available. In many places the veggie option is usually mild or medium hot so I’m pleased this place offers you a real hot option too – I like a good bit of chilli heat. We were happily stuffed by the end of it.Really happy with our meal and it seems a lot of other people were too. Only thing is I think they need to invest in single sized tables so they can configure them better according to demand each night. There was a single person at a table for four and the two of us were also at a table for four. If they have single tables they can split them up or put them together depending on the group size and get hungry punters seated sooner.06 Aug, 2011Restaurant used to be The Curry Leaf and is now called Masala Twist
We had a takeaway from here- brilliant value because it was buy one get one free on curries! Both were lovely as was the naan- will definately be back x
Smashing!. I visited Masala Twist on Sunday early afternoon. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. Immediately myself and my three dining partners had a nice feeling from the place. The food was gorgeous. A nice range of starters; in particular the chicken on the bone in a spiced tomato-based curry sauce was delicious! The mains were just as good, if not better. There were six different curry dishes; the chicken chasni being the stand out dish for me. Sumptuous!I’ve been for many, many Indian meals over the years, and this is definitely in the top 3 of all time! The amazing food, coupled with cracking service, and the fact four of us ate (and drank!) for just over forty pound is fantastic. I will go back, and the sooner the better!
