Far too cramped, they should be in a bigger place, the staff were inattentive and the manager/owner was rude, impolite, and brash. I don’t know (though I don’t believe it is) if this is my misinterpretation of Turkish culture, but I came away feeling sorely mistreated. In a place like that, the food needs to be astounding. Here it was mediocre – soggy, and ours had been left on the counter for clearly too long before even being brought to us. Will not be returning, strongly recommend you do not go.

Went for a meal in the evening. I liked that it was small and had lovely lights. Great ambience. Had the tagines and both the lamb and veggie ones were delicious. Finished with sweet and yummy baklava. Would happily return.

Friendly little place tucked away at the top of the bustle of Leith Walk, which I was intrigued by after reading about it in The Sunday Times. Having just recently tried Turkish coffee for the first time too I wanted to venture there for breakfast and a caffeine hit and went on a sunny Saturday morning (they’re only open for breakfast at the weekend).Though the decor doesn’t quite transport you to Istanbul thebeautiful, traditional coffee cups and Turkish trivets get you a little closer. So does thefood, whichwas tasty and plentiful(the jam laced with rosewater and thesausage slices cooked into the fried eggs were particularly good) and very reasonably priced (7 all in).And it all comes withTurkish tea and a smile. 22ten.blogspot.com
