Food is absolutely brilliant, atmosphere is cosy and relaxing, prices are good, portions are perfect, highly recommend! Staff are well trained, polite and well dressed. My waitress was Maira, thank you for a lovely service dear
Serrano Manchego is the closest thing I have come across in Edinburgh to a real Cerveceria! The atmosphere is busy, noisey and generally buzzing. The food is excellent with a variety of breakfasts, mains, tapas and desserts. We stuck to the tapas which were not only excellent, but the portions were more than adequate. The serrano ham was delicious and tender, with one of the other stars from the six we ordered, warm goats cheese in honey and raisins. There is no great luxury here, the chairs wooden, and you may be expected to dine with others not in your party on one of the high tables. Tables are close together with waiting staff whizzing about continually. Great atmosphere.
We randomly spotted Serrano Manchego on Leith Walk last week, and after initially heading to a different restaurant we decided to give this place a try! It was a lovely summers evening and they have big windows, which were swung open and it had a fantastic Spanish feel to it. It wasn’t overly busy so we managed to grab a seat by the window where we could enjoy the atmosphere. Because there weren’t a lot of guests it did take a surprisingly long time to get served and especially to receive our drinks. However, this gave us time to ponder over the extensive menu. There were a lot of delicious sounding items on offer, but we eventually chose 5. One of the dishes was a goats cheese dumpling/parcel and it was amazing – we had to order another! The jamon was also delicious, as well as a fish dish in a yummy tomato sauce. It wasn’t the best tapas I’ve ever had, but there were some very good options, and I would definitely come back in a large group for a relaxing lunch or dinner.
Great tapas. Simple and tasty! Staff are quick and efficient. Good atmosphere no matter what time of the day you visit. Always order the home made tortilla de patatas (omelette made from potatoes and onions) and gambas al ajilo (prawns cooked in olive oil with garlic and chilli) mopping up the sauce with some bread. Yum! Don’t forget the churros if you have a sweet tooth.
This place has a great, fun atmosphere. All staff are friendly and helpful. The tapas are soooo gooood, especially the chorizo! The churros at the end were nice but not insanely nice! I will definitely be returning here for some Spanish atmosphere and delicious food. brightredwellies.com
Funnily enough I wasn’t that enticed by the ham or Manchego cheese we had as part of a platter, but the prawn and chicken skewers were amazing and the octopus and patatas bravas dishes were delicious too.I like the spacious but cosy interior and could easily spend a whole relaxed night there sipping red wine and pecking at more tapas.Would like to go for breakfast too, with a tortilla or omelette and coffee instead.Pretty good value (apart from the meat/cheese platter) and friendly service – and I can’t help but like a place that keeps cutlery in old food cans… 22ten.blogspot.com
