This is my favourite Thai takeaway in Edinburgh. The dishes are consistently tasty, the proteins of good quality, and the prices reasonable. They are always quick to deliver and have often called me to confirm my food allergies when I note them online orders – thats just excellent service!
Thai food is quickly becoming a favourite of mine and Edinburgh has so many great places to offer. My friends had told me about Silver Bowl many times and I finally managed to give them a try when we ordered a midweek takeaway. A few of us shared the Gang Kiew Wan Gai with chicken and the Neua Prik Thai with beef. Both were great but my favourite was the side of coconut rice; it was delicious! I would have everything again. The spicy prawn crackers are a good added extra as well. I look forward to ordering from here again!
APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Two hours after having what was quite a nice meal I got a phone call from the manageress at Silver Bowl accusing me of failing to pay the delivery driver for my takeaway order! Not only did I in fact pay the driver for the meal I also told him he could keep the change as a tip. Apparently he then decided to keep all the money and then tell the managers that I had not paid for my meal! I was quite shocked the restaurant would jump to the conclusion that I had not paid them without double checking first and even more shocked that they would phone me so late at night (23:20) to ask about it. Even so I assured the manageress on the phone that I did in fact pay the driver. Still finding myself quite shocked by the whole situation I decided to phone the restaurant back a few minutes later to see if they had spoken to their driver and also to tell them how rude I had found their earlier phone call and let them know that I would not be ordering from them again. Not only did I receive no apology from the manageress she did not seem at all bothered about losing a customer. I found being accused in this manner quite upsetting and although the food itself was quite nice I will NEVER be ordering from this restaurant again due to their horrible customer service, untrustworthy staff and complete lack of manners. This experience completely ruined my night.
Ni hao! Camen here, have enjoyed the silver bowl experience on numerous occasions. Ensure you wear appropriate attire when ordering in. Oops! ;p. All in all I am once again a happy customer. So I say enjoy-bochoi and get your chopsticks A’chopin!!
