Wonderful little bakery off the beaten track. Bought the sourdough and cinnamon bun. Found out that they sold loafs in their half sizes. Rarity! Will definitely return to try other variety of breads and cakes. Plus their coffees too.
These may just be the best donuts in Edinburgh. Oh my days, so good! I got the lemon and poppyseed custard and my friend got the raspberry jam…with lots of coffee on the side! The favours change daily though. It is small and doesn’t look like much on the inside, but once you step in you get greeted by some lovely staff who are chatty and friendly. They have a small menu of donuts and breads which is more than enough. Definitely pop in for a taste or even get them to takeaway – we now do weekly!! brightredwellies.com
This tiny cafe is the sister to Lovecrumbs, so I had high expectations before visiting. There was an array of freshly baked bread, croissants, and some delicious-looking focaccia on display, but I made a beeline for the doughnuts. I was hoping to try the pumpkin cheesecake flavour, but it was sold out by the time I arrived, so I tried the passionfruit ricotta instead. The doughnut definitely exceeded my high expectations – the dough was soft and pillowy, and the filling was light and creamy, and not overly sweet. They seem to have new and unique flavour combinations everyday, so I’ll definitely be back to try a few more. ashleywanders.com
A very cozy little cafe with delicious baked goods (can recommend the rose custard donuts) and fabulous coffee that reminds me of Brunswick street in Melbourne 🙂
Great little bakery just at the top of leith. Quirky with fab luxury doughnuts with different flavours. I had the chocolate and rose filling. It oozed out and was devilishly yummy. One was enough as it was so sweet but defo go there again!
