The quality is fairly consistent from store to store and you don’t have to spend too much time deciding what to order – a couple of sausage rolls and a sandwich will usually see me through without causing too much guilt. Two sausage rolls is the recommended serving size, just in case the first one is so mind-blowingly good that you need to revisit the experience immediately (this is rarely the case, but has happened).Sausage rolls in Greggs are served hot or cold, crispy or soggy and occasionally burnt. Today was a hot soggy day, far better than a cold burnt day. My sandwich was also a little on the soggy side, but was entirely consumable, it had chicken and bacon in it after all.Greggs is reasonably priced and serves reliable sustenance, the sandwiches are ok but the sausage rolls are a lucky dip (which sometimes pay off). It’s not my first visit and won’t be my last, there is a time and place for Greggs, it’s usually when I forget to pick something up for lunch elsewhere or run out of stuff at home.On a side note, the do sell a fairly decent granary loaf. edinbraw.com
