Had drinks in here on Saturday night, the place has an unusual style and music selection fitted this; but it seemed to work. There was a nice atmosphere about the place, plenty of seats to sit and chat and plenty of space to get up and dance. Something very unexpected happened at 11pm…O Fortuna began to play and rose petals were dropped from the balcony above…the whole thing was bizarre but seemed to put everyone in good spirits. I think rose petal thing might have worked better with a less intrusive song choice. Drinks were good and service at the bar was quick. Grant Tinney
My girlfriend recently visited Arta, and this is what she had to say: Went to Arta for a cocktail masterclass and dinner afterwards. We were a group of 15 girls there for a hen do and we thought it was reasonably priced at 35 pp. Whole experience was AWFUL!! The cocktail class was squeezed into a corner of the bar with only the front row of girls able to see what was going on. They also claimed they were only aware of a booking for 12 people despite me calling 3 TIMES to confirm numbers! There was nowhere to put our jackets or bags so we had to stand holding everything for an hour. The choice of cocktails were also less than desirable – a woo woo (is that even a cocktail), french martini and a green shot. We were then escorted upstairs. We were given a set menu which seemed ok on first look. However we had to wait between 50 and 60 minutes between starter, main and dessert. Quality of food for starters (tomato soup or asparagus) and desserts (ice cream or creme caramel) was poor, main courses were ok. We had to ask on several occasions if we could be served drinks as there seemed to be no one looking after our table. I had also reserved a table in the nightclub for after dinner which we were told we could decorate with ‘hen’ type stuff. At 10.30pm I asked if I could discreetly leave to decorate table. Waiter told me they were running late with a murder mystery evening but he would take the decorations and sort it out. After waiting and waiting, we eventually made it downstairs to find…an empty table with my bag full of items sitting on top. No one had bothered to even open the bag. Several complaints were made to several managers but all had a complete lack of concern. They were more bothered about the fight happening at the entrance. Arta has the potential to be a beautiful place but with over bookings, atrocious customer service and complete lack of communication between managers, staff and customers, this place will never improve. I will NEVER go back to ARTA and would strongly advise others to do the same.
Great Atmosphere. A group of us went to Arta last Saturday and had amazing time! Its right in the centre the Merchant city so the location is great. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant ordering from the set tapas menu which was excellent value for money. We received a very warm welcome from the staff and the service was quick and efficient. After our meal we went to the club downstairs, it was a good laugh and there was live music creating a lively atmosphere. Great experience would go back in a second!
Nice two for two. So went to Arta with the girlfriend and I must say, they made me look good! I called up for a birthday dinner and asked for a romantic table. It was over towards the back of the restaurant and it was a great choice! We tried out the paella, which was totally worth the wait! Afterwards we just stayed in Arta enjoying the music in the nightclub down the stairs and our friends came in to meet us, can’t remember it’s name but had a good mix of live music with bands and DJs!
