Four colleagues on a regular catch up decided to have a meal. It was Friday 27 November 2015 and we arrived 3.55pm. We were originally directed to the bar as the restaurant was still to open (4pm). Just as we were about to order we were asked to move to the restaurant. It has well over a 100 covers but as the first 4 to arrive we were directed to a 3 foot square table. Not ideal! When we asked to move to something bigger (e.g. put 2 tables together) we were told that the other tables were needed for later. It was 4pm and when we left at 5.45 there were another 10 people in the restaurant. Not over flowing! Thankfully one of the waitresses moved us to a bigger table. The food and service were great. As we left I decided to challenge the restaurant manager on his unreasonable behaviour. He kept me waiting in a quiet restaurant for around 10 minutes. Despite the obvious (10 people in a restaurant catering for over a 100) he decide to stick with his absurd line that he required the table for other diners arriving later and in any event he thought I specifically asked for 2 tables to be ‘pulled together’ for 4 diners. He hadn’t though to offer another table despite our request. The restaurant manager is pathetic and if you go there you risk being put through his ‘power trip’. Other than that the food and service are good.

Truly superb meal was enjoyed at Citation, Glasgow. The food was presently beautifully and the taste was of an even higher standard. I received first class, attentive service from the staff who were more than happy to make alternations to my chosen dishes to ensure they met my dietary requirements as a coeliac.

Came here for lunch on a sunny day so sat out on the lovely terrace. Service was quick and friendly. The food – a salad and a pasta dish – also arrived promptly and tasted great. Cocktails were a little slow to arrive as they came from the bar downstairs but that was ok. Plan to visit for dinner sometime.

Had wonderful meal for 2 last night at citation , very romantic setting , beautiful restaurant , excellent staff , French cuisine at it’s best , the pork loin was like fillet steak quality and the cod main was the best I have had ever !

Excellent – would go back. Nice place – very busy in the wine bar area downstairs but we had booked a table upstairs in the restaurant. Didn’t seem like my sort of place at first but once the food came, I totally changed my mind. It was a cold night and my starter of French Onion soup was magnificent and warmed me up considerably. It came with a large gruyere crouton floating amongst the thick, brown, oniony, delicious broth. It was a huge bowl with more bread on the side and it was just what the doctor ordered! Mr bunglingidiots starter of lovely Fresh Daily breads with with olive oil & balsamic also came with some kind of pesto dip. Lovely. No complaints there. They have a great menu with plenty to choose from and I opted for a main course portion of mussels in a tomato, coconut and coriander broth at 11.95 and I ordered a side of hand cut chunky chips. (Which I needn’t have!) The portion of mussels was massive and it came with yet more bread. The tasty broth was a winner for me and the fat chips came with a dish of home made tartare sauce that was bursting with flavour. The metal pot the mussels were served kept everything super hot and although I tried my best, I just couldn’t finish it all. My husband’s beer battered haddock (10.50) came with the same hand cut chips and tartare sauce, (he asked them to leave off the mushy peas!) and again, the portion size was on the large side. We couldn’t manage a dessert but left feeling warm, full and happy. Service was really excellent – a minor blip of an extra few items from another table’s order added on our bill was the only thing that slightly detracted from a great meal.

Nice venue. A really nice restaurant, good for large parties.I didnt think that there was enough choice on the menu but the food was good.I went for the pot roast salmon which came with a lovely parsley mash. The waiter we had was really friendly and pleasent,it was quite busy but the service was also quite fast.I also like Citation as a bar just for after work drinks it can be a bit pricey but there’s always a good atmosphere.
