Lovely. What a lovely place. We rarely venture over the road to Trongate but when we do we always made a note to go to this place. We went on Saturday night. The place was really busy so I would recommend booking. When we arrived there was a queue out the door of people waiting to be shown to their tables. You enter through a curtain and the see the dimly lit restaurant. Everyone looked really happy and to be enjoying their food. Food and service were really good. The only fault was a rather dry pasta main. They also own the attached Cafe E2 and they are joined by a corridor so you can go for a drink there whilst you wait for your table. We would definitely go back to Esca.

Didn’t disappoint. Went here with a group of friends, had been meaning to try it out for a while so was pleased to get along. It certainly didn’t disapoint and felt that it was everything it was suggesting. Good modern Italian/European menu and food was cook well with very good fresh ingrediants. A good indicator of this was that I had mussles and were of a very good quality and fresh, so flavour was good. Staff were all very good and attentive and knew the menu and specials well. Pretty reasonable pricing and a very good deal on the pre-theatre, especially if you book a table online through agent website. Only critisism is that it got quite hot at times and it wasn’t especially warm outside.
