We decided to meet a large group of family at Jamies Italian in Glasgow due to the size of our party and because we were all traveling by train from different locations. Its in a good location, close enough to the train station. When we arrived it was relatively quiet, but there was no one waiting on the door to welcome us. We were seated at our table and the service was attentive without being too over powering. I ordered the Arancini as a started and it was very nice! It had a good crusty crumbed texture on the outside and a nice creamy aldante texture of the risotto inside. For my main I opted to try the squid ink and octopus ravioli! Pleasantly surprised it came out with a lovely garnish and good flavour. It had a small amount of heat which I really love. We had a great waiter who was prompt and looked after us well. However, the drinks orders did take a while to come out from the bar. I ordered a glass of red wine and didnt get it until half way through my main. I enjoyed myself and the food was ok, I wouldnt rush back.. mainly due to the fact I dont like chain restaurantsThanks Jamies Italian!
I went here a few weeks ago. We had a 3 course meal from the 3 for 20 menu and the food was exceptional. The cocktails were a little strong for my taste but we’re still good. The staff were amazing, 5* service and the restaurant was immaculate. Also Jamie Oliver cook books were available to buy for 10 so I bought 2 for at home!
Everything about Jamies Italian screams impersonal franchise and is very average at best! I wasnt displeased with my meal or the service – I had a burger and it was good, but its not a place I would rave about or rush back to in a hurry.
Visited today sorry wasn’t impressed with the meal or the prices. Ordered 2 specials 1 being the cod the other the Calzone pizza, a portion of chips on the side 2 ciders cost 49.00.odds The cod was 18 and the Calzone was 14 odds chips 4.00. Drinks 2 ciders 12.odds. Small portions, approx. 10 chips. Waiter told us the prices once we ordered. Hubby was still hungry when we left restaurant. Sorry but at these prices we will not be visiting again. Too expensive to still feel hungry after you have eaten a meal. Sadly wont be returning.
I was very surprised at the high quality of the food. I guess I was expecting something tacky, I don’t know. But the food was delicious. The service was great, and very well-versed with the menu. The ambience was terrific, cozy and family style without being too quaint. Really enjoyable experience all in all.
This was my first visit to Jamies Italian. Id heard quite mixed reviews about the restaurants but I was keen to try them out for myself. My husband and I popped in for the Evening Meal Deal and had a really lovely meal. Our waiter was attentive and we never felt rushed or anything was too much of a hassle. All our food was great, I never sampled any of the cocktails but I will do the next time Im in. Jamies Italian is particularly perfect for catching up with friends, family meals, a quick bite to eat or longer meals with your partner. Jamie’s Italian also caters well for those with food allergies. The online menu lets you select which meals are appropriate for a range of allergies. ayelined.com
