Superb!. Toyed between here and a few of the other nearby Italians in the Merchant City but I definitely made the right choice! The staff are extremely polite and attentive, the atmosphere is very relaxed and the decor/overall feel of the place is spot on. As for the meals, the tapas idea is a fantastic idea. Portions are decent and reasonably priced, and the food is great. No complaints whatsoever, would definitely recommend this place over the likes of nearby Italian Kitchen (the partner restaurant), Qua, Amore etc.
Great!!. Always great food , friendly staff, slight annoyance can get a bit noisy at times. Must try Langustines in garlic butter and Ossobuco…Heavenly. Firm favourite.

Fantastic!. What can I say – food and service fantastic as always. The langoustines, the veal and the duck in particluar need to be tried, and the Trebbiano very wine pleasant as well. Prices are ok – not the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for – food, service and surroundings are terrific; especially if you go on a nice day as there are seats outside which get the sun in the afternoon.Strange to see the 2 negative comments below about the food and service. My wife and kids and I have been going for about a year now betweeen 2 and 3 times a month (money permitting!) and always look forward to our next visit after a days shopping – dishes made with fresh ingredients and a great selection of wines. Highly recommended!!!
Honest food but shocking staff. Myself and two friends ate here last week. We were shown to our seats by a very pleasant young man who unfortunately was not our waiter for the rest of the evening. We were served by a female member of staff named Marissa, the manager!, and were repeatedly ignored for the rest of the evening. She was rude, stuck up and her shocking attitude and bad manners ruined the evening for all of us. I asked another female member of staff the manager’s name, explaining how disappointed we were in the service. She gave a name but seemed less than interested in dealing with our complaint. I have never had a major issue with any staff in a Glasgow restaurant, so far this has been my most unpleasant dining experience. On the upside the food was simple and homely. Well cooked and presented, very reasonable price as well.
Poor italian. I was not impressed. I know my food through my experience of actually being italian and eating italian food. Any italian restaurant that makes everything in the oven or has been carried across the road from italian kitchen should not be given credit! a complete joke this is not what i call a restaurant more like an italian mcdonalds!
Fantastico !!!. I love italian food, actually I think I should be italian between my love of mafia movies and the food I really think I should have been born there. Anyway, I eat out a lot and always like to try new places so when I came across The Italian Caffe I just had to try it out. As I work in Glasgow I know my way about the town pretty well and spend a lot of time in the Merhchant City as there is some great bars but I had never seen this place before, so decided I had to try it out… what can I say, the food was amazing, the service was great and it was very resonable priced, I would highly recomend checking it out if you like your italian food… ill be back soon !
