Not good , They project it as an Indian restaurant but food is sweet and they are probably using sweat sauces apart from sweetness in food . The food also lacks in taste it taste very ordinary . Service is OK .
I’ve order take away from the Guru and it was fab, arrived quickly and was value for money. The dishes were delicious and I highly recommend their nan bread but watch out as it’s huge!! 😉 layoutlines.com
The Guru is an Indian restaurant located just a few minutes walk away from Foutainpark and is also very close to Tynecastle football stadium and is itself an area which can be busy.But on both occasions that I have visited Guru with my family, it was eerily quiet, once was a Tuesday night, which can be expected on that day of the week, but the other was a Friday, which clearly meant that there was something going amiss.It certainly isn’t the food which is the problem, the Fish Kebab, the Sheek Kebab, Balti King Prawn Dopiaza and Balti Lamb Ceylon were all of a good standard and one that actually surprised me given how quiet they were.The empty feel of the place made it an uncomfortable place to eat, hence the average scoring for Guru which has done nothing wrong. It is a good restaurant and if you live in the area it is a good place to eat.
