I knew this was a very important ice cream shop in Scotland, producing ice cream for many places all over the country. I have been here twice in 5 days as I really liked it. Very original flavours, most of them really nice (I am not a fan of irn bru sorbet) and a really good price! And it seems they have different flavours quite often, great! And it is open quite late. I live nearby, so I will definitely come back here soon.

I love this cute little place, it’s nice for a quick bite and you don’t mind all the noise that comes from excited children. I almost always order the vegetable lasagne it’s my favourite and I can’t fault it. My little brother had mozzarella pizza which was standard. The staff are equally awesome, however every time I come here my fizzy drink is always flat and I ALWAYS send it back. shakirarahman.wordpress.com

Lucas is the perfect way to celebrate hump day. I have only been here to take away an ice cream, but I have never been disappointed! The ice cream is especially creamy, the mint choc chip is my favourite. Mostly they keep the same flavours but change a couple, which is good. The cherry cola sorbet is another of my preferred choices, although the irn bru sorbet is also delicious. My latest tasting as been the banana hot fudge sundae with banoffee ice cream; it was unreal!I look forward to trying more of Lucas yummy selection.

I was really disappointed by the food here. Having been a few times I was expecting it to be as good as I had remembered, but it wasn’t. My food, a cheese toastie was really yummy, and the chips were good, however my brother had the burger and actually didn’t finish it he didn’t enjoy it at all. The service was good, but the place did look a little run down. Overall, underwhelmed, but still the best ice cream ever! fashionpolaroids.co.uk

Lucas is best known for it’s ice cream and you happen to pop by and try some, you certainly won’t be disappointed. With it’s budget friendly portions, I would recommend a scoop of irn bru sorbet and a scoop of red bull sorbet. kirstyemanuel.wordpress.com

If you are looking for some good food and even more brilliant icecream I would recommend cafe Luca. It is relatively known that this is the best icecream parlour in Edinburgh. If visiting I would recommend getting one of their burgers and of course icecream. Last time that I visited I had sticky toffee pudding and it was the best that I have ever had. Not only was the quality amazing there was plenty of toffee sauce and a very generous slice of pudding.Go here if you want good food and great service. sillylittlepictures.blogspot.com

I love ice cream and was really eager to try S Luca’s ice cream that I had heard so much about. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, there were long queues for the take-away treats downstairs but we headed upstairs to find seats. We should have known this would be packed as well, especially with boisterous and sugar-filled kids with lots of newly found energy. We waited patiently for a table to open up and were seated within a few minutes. My chocolate and pistachio ice creams were good, but they didn’t blow me away.Besides the okay-it’s-good-but-not-amazing ice cream, the whole experience was a bit lacking in my view. The servers seemed overly-busy and lacked a sense of genuine friendliness. The place was clean and the old-fashioned ice cream bar feel provided good ambiance, but the rowdy kids and sheer noise of the place got to me. We could hardly hear each other, which never bodes well. I’d go back to S Luca for the ice cream, but perhaps next time I’d just do take-away and enjoy it while strolling through Morningside for better ambiance. edinburghtraveller.com
