Great Place. Personally, whether or not i’m bought a plate or not doesn’t detract from what is a lovely place to have brunch on a Sunday. I’m sure that if you asked them nicely they would bring one. What is important to me – and i’m sure the majority of people – is that the service is excellent, the food fresh and delicious and all in all is great place to come rain and shine – especially if you fit in a walk on the beach after. This is the nicest place in SA to eat, in my opinion, and judging by the amount of people that visit time and again, i’m not the only person with that opinion. My only complaint against the place is that it doesn’t open for dinner!!!
Babs Stevenson. Myself and three friends visited Balgove Larder for the first time on Tuesday around 12 noon. The girls behind the counter were nice. We ordered soup and a crusty roll. This was brought to us by one of the girls. Soup was very nice and the rolls were exceptionally good, but we weren’t given plates to put our rolls on for spreading. This meant that we had to use our napkins. Not really a good idea. We then ordered tea and coffee and some homemade shortbread. This, again was brought to us by one of the girls. The tray on which this was brought to us on wasABSOLUTELY FILTHY. The service was very haphazzered. I suggest that they would be better having table service, instead of the girls all getting under each others feet behind the counter. I will return to see if any improvements have been made.
