Absolutely dreadful. I went to the Faulty Towers evening as a birthday treat for a friend. The acting was probably OK (hard to tell because I could see or hear most of it).Started badly when the staff in the restaurant said we hadn’t booked… when we produced the booking they told us to wait outside. (In a yard). We were told to buy drinks then, which we did and THEN were told that if we want a drink now we had to buy another drink. So we did… and it was very poor red and white wine. The ‘show’ started not 7:50 as we were told, but after 8pm… by this time we had been waiting half an hour outside. We finally got indoors at 8:30 and were crushed into the corner at the back. There was barely room to eat and it certainly couldn’t be done without touching the person next to you, and in my case the wall. The ‘show’ was behind me mostly. i could only see in the right direction by twisting my neck and shoulders round- no chance of moving the chair. The venue was too overcrowded and too big to hear the dialogue most of the time and without standing I could see very little of the action. But most importantly, the food was extremely poor. Pea and ham soup was passable. The bread roll was execrable. The chicken was dry, the gravy was like dark brown water. The pudding was appalling (Iceland?). the whole evening was awful. The main problem I think was the numbers crushed into the small space and i suspect the kitchen just couldn’t cope.

Odd Service. I have been to B’est a few times, and the food is generally good. The main problem is the service can be a bit odd.Last time we went, the service was painfully slow. The restaurant wasn’t even full. There is a large window looking in to the kitchen, and we saw the chef having a blazing row with one of the waiting staff. Although our dinner was tasty, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very poor and we were really put off. I haven’t been brave enough to venture back!
