Great food and awesome people. Walking downstairs into what is a quaint room that is only bettered by the food. Will make it a regular spot when returning to Edinburgh!

Nestled downstairs with a tiny entrance it’s easy to miss, but the smells from the street invite you in right away. Had some amazing steak medaalions with a sauce straight out of heaven. The waitress was friendly and very attentive Great little place!

One of my husband and mine’s favourite place. Scottish food. Small discreet door. Downstairs. Small. And JUST GOOD FOOD. It is closed on Sunday’s and Monday’s and the last serving is 9pm. We have lots of favourite dishes here. Haggis is always fantastic here and all the different dishes of beef are ALL good. You can order half bottles of wine as well which is always useful when it’s both of you having dinner and just wanting 2 glasses between you. And they actually have a good list to choose from for half bottles. It’s a small place and they don’t rush their customers. So do book in advance. And obviously, especially during the weekends.

Amazing quaint little restaurant in old town Edinburgh off the high street with incredible staff and amazing attention to detail on plating. The food is out of this world and well worth the money spent! I would recommend them to anyone visiting Edinburgh and looking for an upper class meal!

A truly exceptional dining experience. Everything from start to finish was exceptional. The soup of the day was an exquisite onion and bleu cheese in a cream base served piping hot. The Wild Mushroom starter was undoubtably the finest mushroom dish I have ever eaten. For entrees we had the Melrose Lamb, Lemon Sole and the special for the day which was filet medallions in port sauce. As we shared among our group I can say that all were superb. We finished up with coffee and shortbread along with the lemon shortcake and another special of the day, a Belgian dark chocolate tureen with a Highland whiskey sauce. I’m still in a food coma as I post this review. The service was excellent and perfectly timed throughout the entire evening. Dubh Prais has seating for only about two dozen so make a reservation and enjoy one of the finest meals you may ever have the pleasure to experience.

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve dined in.. Difficult to recommend anything in particular, however the meat dishes are second to none. I think this is one of those places that relies on word of mouth – so enjoy!
