I went to this pub for dinner on Wednesday. I had passed it on my way to Waverley station and it seemed OK. The reality was that it was better than that.The staff were pleasant and helpful. My scampi and chips were excellent but the cranachan was to die for. A very nice meal and decent wine
What an awesomely quintessential must do for scottish pub and grub lovers… a brilliant whiskey and beer menu (am sure the other options are just as good :)), itll take a few days to discover your favourites here, the food’s hearty and tasty and generous and the ladies behind the bar make you feel wonderfully welcome and at home. Its a place you definitely want to start or end the night with on at least a few of the days that you’re in Edinburgh 🙂
