First time in Edinburgh and visited this place on the recommendation of a friend. It was fully occupied when we stepped in and had to wait for 10 mins to get a table. Servers were quite friendly and the service was warm.Since, I never had Ale and wanted to try so asked the server which one to go for and he explained different types of Ale based on the taste, and I went for the Medium one guess it was Yellow one (Forgot the color). Along with that had starters ‘Goat’s Cheese & Caramelised Onion Brushetta’ & ‘Spicy Chicken Goujons’, both were equally good and had a warm experience.Overall, would recommend.
One of the finest places to be in if u are visiting Edinburgh…in terms of it’s legacy. It’s a different feeling altogether if u are visiting this part of the country for the first time….It was fully packed….but we managed to get a table near the bar counter after a while of wait.We had been for lunch and this is what we ordered :- Homemade haddock fish fingers – this was decent to eat and the haddock was quite soft and well seasoned. Accompanied by tartar sauce and salad to garnish…it was a good eat.- Spicy chicken goujons – chicken breast with their own panko based herb with BBQ sauce. This I liked which was served with salad portion as well.- Ale – my husband has their in house ale which he liked and I settled with apple juice as I am not a scotch personThe overall experience was good with good service accompanied by a different but warm environment
This place was nice. Seemed like a very good mix of local and visitors. When our waitress got off she stayed at the bar for a few drinks with us and became a friend. There was live music at night but we left before it started.
Lovely place with a very Scottish look. The staff was very prompt . The place had a good choice of whiskies and really nice menu for food. One of those rare places with the infamous Mars Fried Bar.
They usually do a pie and bangers special each month I decided to get the bangers and mash, and it was so satisfying. I couldn’t stop eating the mash, even though my stomach had reached full capacity.
Get Your Haggis Here!. Travel guide recommended – Enjoyed the Steak and Mushroom Pie. My partner was intent on the Haggis… tried it, not bad as far as Haggis goes. Great atmosphere! Bon Appetit~
