Walking into the Waverley is like stumbling into the past. It may not be filled with grimy old men smoking tiny roll up but the walls still hold the memory of those days, and the toilets may not have been changed since then. The selection of drinks is decent enough, usually served by satisfyingly uncaring staff, and it’s easy to get a good atmosphere upstairs, where you can get lost looking at old posters for Festival shows long dead. I know a lot of people who swear by this place but it may be more due to fond memories than the quality of the venue. facebook.com
