Little cafe off the grassmarket which we popped into for a drinks and Snack. The hot chocolate was wonderful and we also had the pitta homous with chicken and mozzarella – nice place for a quick bite.
Poor Service – avoid. Asked us to move after being seated for 10 mins, to make space for 4 other guests who were already seated and settled. Profits seem more important than comfort. Zaza’s doesn’t seem to care about their customers at all – very poor service. Food was mediocre. I’d avoid and go across the road to the other cafe’s – staff are much more polite and appreciative of your custom.
Hum! There are better places in the Grassmarket. We went to Zaza this past week for breakfast, as we were staying at a nearby hotel. This little coffee shop seemed like the obvious place in the Grassmarket. The full breakfast was ok, but grossly overpriced. You can do so much better in one of the coffee and sandwich shops on Forrest Rpad, just up Candlemakers Row. Service was tense, with the poor server continually watched over by his boss (eating at the table opposite to us). The body language was interesting to observe…
