Faded glory. Pretty much what everyone is saying. Not been for a wee while and we had a meal the other night. Wouldn’t go rushing back to it. used to be a really good place for some good food but standards have slipped. None of us enjoyed our food.

I went for dinner on 23rd feb 2012, having been in for drinks a few times before. I had the black pudding salad for starter, and the rib eye steak for main course. What can I say? It was awful. The starter was a measly 3 medallions of black pudding, each about the size of a penny. The steak was almost inedible: stringy, poor quality meat served with cold chips and a watery tasteless sauce (blue cheese apparantly, but you wouldnt know it). Basically, this was one of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Velvet Elvis: dissappointed. On a recent visit to Velvet Elvis we experienced both poor quality food and service. The roast beef dinner ordered was presented as a slab of raw meat without being asked about how we would like the meat cooked. The cut of beef was of low quality, tough and impossible to cut. This was served with a few potatoes that tasted old and re-cooked, peas and a handful of watercress, which is an unexpected accompaniment for a roast meal. The vegetarian meal ordered by another member of the group was also disappointing. The service was slow and inefficient with staff that were not attentive and also rude. Following the visit a letter of complaint was sent, yet 1 month later no response has been received. I was very disappointed with this restaurant and will not be returning.

Went for Sunday lunch/brunch. Decent pub grub. Bit disappointed with the pudding. Friendly service. I’d give it another go but not one of my favourites.

Great place. I love this place. Great ambience, not too overthought decor, laidback but attentive staff and good music. I love the bicycle hanging from the butcher hooks with the stuffed dog sat in the basket! Food is great – fresh, interesting menu and big portions. This is just what Partick needs.

Velvet Elvis. Unfortunately my dining experience there was absolutely RUBBISH !!!!!!The service was terrible the waitress was more interested in sending text messages behind the bar then serving us. As for the food….. The Italian sausage was ok, but the tomato relish had too much vinegar, wasn’t balanced with any sugar or herbs ! ( Gross) mash was slightly sour not creamy or seasoned. VERY BLAND DISH not worth 8.95. Nicely told the waitress who rolled her eyes at me….. My partner had the burger, his was ok but the peppercorn sauce had mushrooms in it ehhhhhh. Was not blown away with the tacky graffiti on the wall PARTICK IS WEIRD !!!!! I love partick have lived there for years it’s great.I thought they were over staffed for a (quiet) Tuesday night with 5 different chefs on. So don’t understand why they sent me that not so nice dish didn’t evn look good !!! Quite annoying with the chefs coming in & out through the restaurant every 2 secs passing our table. However the highlight was the mojito cheesecake.
