Every time I feel like a scoop of sugary goodness in the cold winter months (it’s the best time to eat ice cream, it doesn’t melt as quickly as in the summer!), the first place that comes to mind is S Luca. It’s always a surprise when you visit their shops in Musselburgh and Morningside. You can either purchase cups, cones or oysters (to name a few!) to take away from their ice cream counter at the front, or to sit in and enjoy your icy goodness, head on over to their restaurant area. Flavours are rotated and made fresh, so you might try one flavour one day and get something completely different the next. My favourites are definitely Nutella, mint chocolate chip and Irn Bru sorbet. We recently visited their cafe in Musselburgh and you’ll find that it’s so popular that there’s normally a queue waiting to be seated. Their dine-in ice cream menu was so extensive, I was having a difficult time deciding between the Millionaire Shortbread Sundae, the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sundae or the Hot Fudge Sundae. Already looking forward to my next visit so I can try one of the other sundaes! diyshopaholic.com
