Delightful location and food but completely unacceptable slow service and rude waitstaff. After two excruciating visits–including a 1 1/2 hour wait for a cheese platter the first time and their ridiculous arguing that our 4-year old had not wanted chocolate ice cream the second– we will not be back.

Lovely little cafe on the beachfront of Portobello. We stopped in for a coffee and cake and it was a great escape from the cold windy weather outside. Seems like a really popular little spot especially for ice cream which amazes me that people are after I’ve cream in this cold weather!!

Lazy Sunday sums up the day and the first visit to the beach house. Pleasant introduction and nice place. Great location and busy but no cohesion to service. Waited for a seat for 5minutes as it seemed like the large amount of staff were on duty but no real leadership or anyone really focused on the customer. We managed a table but we watched at least ten people leave as they stood around unnoticed. As I said maybe the staff had had a big night and the burnt coffee being served wasn’t enough to cure their hangovers. Food was simple but reasonable for price and size. Soup and sandwich tasty enough but carrott cake was dry a seemed like it was a few days old.
