Lovely tea room in an antiques shopI first came here on my last Edinburgh visit some years ago and loved it so much, I thought I’d seek it out again. I’m pleased to say it is still as great as ever. It’s a tiny tea room located in an antiques shop. They’ve got an extensive selection of specialist teas (I had the orange flower oolong) and a small range of cakes. My husband had a fruit scone with clotted cream and jam, I had the Dundee cake. Cakes were served on a cake stand with antique china. They also had some tartlets and green tea cake.It’s evidently a dog friendly place – one dog was being served water in an antique glass bowl.Sitting amongst the lovely antique furnishings and listening to the period background music one truly felt transported back to the early 20th century.It’s a little off the beaten track but worth the detour (just beware, they’ve only got a very small number of tables)- especially if you are going to combine it with a trip to Holyrood park.
