Tried here after buying a Groupon deal on sushi.The place was quite busy and tables were very close together.After waiting a little longer than one would hope to be served we ordered our sushi.The sushi was nice enough but the lack of atmosphere let the place down. With no music playing and an almost awkward silence we ate our sushi as fast as possible, waited a little too long again on the bill and then left.The price wasn’t too much of a loss because of the Groupon but I would have been disappointed to have paid full price for this experience.
For the price you pay the food really is very tasty and all staffs make you feel relaxed and welcomed! What I love about the most which is different from other Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh is that there do a special menu every week. Also the sushi is made smaller and is how it should be so can fit in my mouth all at once. Haha. I will definitely be back!!! So impressed that I had to share!! It was the 1st time I had panacotta in a Japanese restaurant which Is good for change as I always go for the ice cream. An all in all a very lovely dining experience.
Excellent restaurant. The food was delicious. The teriyaki chicken in particular was outstanding. Service was nothing special, standard, but certainly not anything horrific. Will go again.
Awful!!!.. Really bad service and poorly made salad at an unreasonable price. Would not go back and would not recommend
It’s OK. Sometimes great sometimes average – I have been here many times because it is very good value but somethimes I feel that the quality of the ingredients does suffer.
Great. I went to Bonsai the other day and had their dinner special, Nabe. It was fantastic!!! The waitress brought it out with a candle and a wee stand to keep the hot pot lifted over the candle. The broth and all the veg was amazing, along with the duck meatballs! I also had an interesting side, a cheese gyoza– deep fried parcels with cheese in them.. Awesome. The service was also quite nice, the girl came to our table and went over bits of the menu with us and didn’t seem put off to help us. This place was aces!
This is woeful!!! I went when it was not busy and the service was slow and sloppy. I was unimpressed with the quality of the sushi and presentation. Never felt like this was an event and customers seemed to be an inconvenience.
