I was coming to the area for some Korean but it closed on a friday, wtf. Anyway, i walked for ages to find something that looks remotely good. Ended up at a cross junction and had a choice between Papa jones and Rigatoni. Since all chain outlets should in some what taste the same as the next, i went for Rigatoni. At first i thought this could be a chain too but as i watched and listened to the waiters, it was clear, it’s not. This was like your local pub, the waiter knew everyone (excluding me) and the family business is ran by italians.Back to the review, the food in general is not british italian. I am not sure, maybe i’ve been accustomed to the italian that is full creamed. Maybe this is true italian but i just don’t appreciate it as i should. I ordered some bread with vinegar and olive oil and nachos. Both was a bit disappointing. Beard was stale and cut to small pieces. The oil to vinegar ratio was incorrect, i couldn’t pickup any vinegar as there was just too much oil. The nachos was out of a pack and broken into many pieces. For my main course i ordered the carbonara. It was cooked with eggs rather than cream, that was quite clear and how it truly should be. However, it was bland and a bit tasteless. Wasn’t enough egg or cheese to stick it altogether. With every meal, i like to have dessert and today is no different. So the classic tiramisu with ice cream. Definitely home made but the coffee only soaked the bottom lady finger and not the top. The flavor wasn’t very distinct, just average. The pizza might be the better option as other tables was all pizzas. If you have family or small gathering and food is not a factor, then this is great. The place is quite small so don’t come here for large gatherings. Don’t have any photos for this because battery died.

Wow! What an amazing little restaurant! Customer service was excellent! So friendly and helpful. I’ve never been here before so went over with Sultana Malik and our friend Jordan! It’s a family run restaurant which shows while they are serving and talking to customers how passionate they are!!I chose the Salmone pasta which was great! Was pretty filling! Jordan got house pasta I think it was with mince beef? Looked really good! !! Next time I will try that!Jordan got dessert, nuttella cheesecake and I just nicked Sultana’s cheesecake haha! Soo good! The coffee was pretty good too! Can’t wait to go again! Thanks Rigatoni’s! ! 🙂

What’s the best thing todo after a crazy day in events management and organising a fashion show? Yes… Go for food or for me desert 😀 went to my favourite Italian place in Edinburgh on Sunday! This is a family run restaurant located at the heart of Edinburgh! Recently won the title of best family restaurant for a Scottish Italian award 2014! Jordan and my favourite foodie Tee Miah got a pasta dish which got gobbled up! Literally! I went for Mama Molfino’s home made Nutella cheesecake! The texture is perfetto! The Nutella chocolate wasn’t too rich which made it perfect with vanilla ice cream! Everything was reasonably priced! Not sure how much the bill was as Tee being the perfect gentleman took the bill. Regular favourite! Highly recommended! sultanamalik.wordpress.com

Was a great authentic italian dinning experience, great and such a humble family serving, preparing and cooking your meal as i would imagine they would make at home, really can’t wait to go back. The food is so simple no fancy stuff just authentic italian goodness. Its byob they charge corkage but i still saved a bunch of money on the bottles of wine.I got the homemade Nutella cheesecake which is to die for especially when accompanied next to a scoop of equi’s double cream vanilla Fantastico!!!!
