Serves the best old fashioned in town. Nice decor and friendly staff. Really nice addition to stockbridge since the short lived raconteur closed a few years ago.
Undoubtedly one of the nicest bars in Edi. Quirky and unusual cocktails, great staff, great nibbles. The music isn’t too loud so you can actually have a conversation. quirkylifestyle.com
Great place for cocktails. Menu is always changing with cocktails that are interesting and have unexpected ingredients. The fire is lovely in the winter. Only dislike is it is always very dark… Even too dark to read the menu sometimes.
Dark, romantic, cosy and very very pretty, the Last Word Saloon is everything you could expect from a cocktail bar… + an amazing fireplace. Their cocktails are lovely, very good and at reasonable prices. Staff is super friendly, although a bit slow sometimes. Still, it’s very much worth it! madaboutravel.com
I think we waited so long to try out the Last Word Saloon because of its name, which to me invokes Old West gold rush watering holes full of cowboys and corseted hookers and jugs of alcohol labeled XXX and old toothless guys playing piany. (For the record I didn’t actually suspect Edinburgh of having a bar like this, but rather a cheesy theme-bar in this vein, which would be infinitely worse. Or now that I think about it, perhaps not actually all that bad?) Its positive reviews finally convinced me to wander down the stairs and give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. What a delight! Dark and cozy and romantic and pretty, all rolled into one. Tasty cocktails at reasonable prices. Friendly service. Giant fireplace. Not a cowboy in sight. I will be back! zurika.com
