Disappointing. Visited Mint Cafe today. Owner more interested in sitting in sun than serving potential customers. Seemed appropriate to order ‘fresh mint tea’ given the name of the cafe.Tea was nice enough but tasted of lemon balm. I just expected fresh mint leaves and hot water but on checking out the contents I found pieces of orange peel, flower buds and other stalks but little evidence of the promised fresh mint. When I queried with Nell she advised that it was ‘mint zinger’ because that is what they sell. I pointed out that if folk expected fresh mint they might have adverse reaction to some of the many contents in the zinger but she wasn’t interested. Given Nell’s nutritional background and knowledge of importance for folk to know what is in the food they eat this experience was particularly disappointing. This business is a great opportunity lost by lack of interest in customer care. Witnessed other bemused folk wondering why anyone opens such a business when they clearly find it just too much trouble.Small things done well will always win the day.

:-/. Place is hidden away from public, yes clean, but overpriced, served by snobby staff and with goods for sale which are definitely unoriginal and overpriced – saw exactly the same ones in a farm shop in Fife which were much less expensive! They are just reproduction prints after all!not going back!

Fantastic homemade food at great prices!. Wow – this one really is a find in an area which is a culinary desert! I had a delicious tomato, basil and marscapone soup and a superb cheese scone – no room for the home baking sadly but had a great latte (all v cheap). A very light space (and cosy on a snowy day!) and incredibly friendly staff – which made for a relaxed and enjoyable visit. The first of many!
