  I really enjoy going to places that have salad bars for lunch as you can mix it up, but still make sure that it’s something you’re going to like! However, I chose to pick salads they have on their menu rather than creating my own. On my first visit I chose the poached salmon salad and the oriental salad on my second; I kept both exactly like the menu suggests.The salad bar is very well organised and looks extremely clean, which is always good! All of the ingredients are organised into individual portions which made getting my salad relatively quick. One of the things I liked about Philpotts is that they mix the salad before serving it. I’ve been to Philpotts twice now and I’ve been disappointed both times. Don’t get me wrong, the food is ok, but I’ve never really enjoyed my lunch. I can’t see me rushing back for a third attempt any time soon!

  Philpotts is a great lunch time option if you’re in a hurry or want something a little fresher than a standard supermarket meal deal. The customisable salads are a personal favourite of mine, with an array of fresh ingredients or set options to choose or get inspiration from at a reasonable price. With Philpotts being right down the street from where I work, it’s easy for me to grab a salad box or a sandwich and eat it there or on the go. The portion sizes are generous (I often get a small salad and still have some left for dinner) making this lunch option great value for money. I would recommend Philpotts if you’re trying to incorporate healthier lunches into a busy lifestyle as you can rest assured that there aren’t any added chemicals or ingredients in your meal. If not, a wide variety of freshly made sandwiches, cakes and box meals are available also.

  Great place for customised salads- huge amount of variety and they toss it all together for you. Reminds me of a NYC salad bar. Lots of vegan/vegetarian choices. Hot meals, sandwiches/wraps, meal deals too, and cakes from Patisserie Valerie. Not many places to sit but conveniently located for picnics in Prince’s St gardens.
