Great Scottish classics. Grade: BEach bit of research Id done on The Taybank before our trip convinced me of the need to visit when we got to Dunkeld. And Im very glad that we did.The Taybank has character, looking well-worn both in the first floor bar area and in the upstairs room where we ate. Based on the quality of the food and drink, the consistent draw of locals is understandable and is what drew me here.Its menu offers a number of Scottish standards. Their smoked salmon is great, as is the stew known as stovies of which the Taybank Stovie, featuring beef and an addictive horseradish sauce is superb. Among its real ales, Head East Bitter is smooth and very satisfying.In addition to good food and good beer, The Taybanks staff is friendly and accommodating. If youre anywhere near Dunkeld, a stop here will definitely be in order.
