An enjoyable meal in comfortable and relaxing surroundings!. A Room in the West End is situated below Teuchters bar in William Street Edinburgh, just a few minutes walk away from Princes Street and Haymarket. The emphasis here is placed on fresh, affordable Scottish produce with dishes created in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you are met by bright colours, simple wooden furniture and granite candles which all give a warm welcoming feel to the place at all times. After an enjoyable meal you can relax in the comfort of Teuchters Bar which boasts over 80 malt whiskies, 16 beers on tap and 20 wines and bubblies by the glass.Definitely worth a visit!
Banoffee Pie to die for!. Just been out with work colleagues for lunch – 2 courses 13.95 – excellent value. The food was superb with the salmon on a black pudding potato scone a delight. Fabulous dessert with the Banoffee pie well worth a try. I can strongly recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic Food and Atmosphere. Colleauge and I had a couple of hours to kill in Edinburgh before a flight back, and a customer suggested we get out at Haymarket and walk from there for food choices. This came up on ‘spoon’ and looked interesting so gave it a go. It’s downstairs underneath a pub upstairs. Didn’t try the pub, went straight down. It was very quiet when we were there, so although we got great service I have no idea if thats normal when it’s busy. I had a chicken pate starter which was really yummy and enough for two of us. The scallop and salmon dish was really lovely, everything cooked perfectly and with a good balance. At the price I thought it was a real winner. The Macon Villages was a good price and not bad. The Australian Gewertz was awesome. Had a great meal and good time here.
Gluten-Free Food. Dined there with my girlfriend, who is gluten intolerant, and had a very nice meal. The staff were understanding about our gluten-free requirements and communicated this to the chef. There were no adverse reactions to the food eaten so the chef is obviously doing his job well.
