Met some friends for morning coffee. Impressive surroundings and comfortable seating. Staff attentive. Coffee served with a thin stick of shortbread. Rather expensive at 5.50 a cup plus 10% service charge. Nice for a change of scene but not every day at these prices.
I am an absolute Afternoon Tea fan and The Peacock Alley’s at the Caledonian Hotel exceded all my expectations. Not only because all the food was amazing, tasted like heaven and staff was super friendly… but also because, by far, the quantity of food was so big my friend and I could not even finish it (and we always finish our afternoon teas). It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny. On top of everything, the environment is fantastic and having a harpist adding music to the experience just put the icing on the cake.
