One BIG rip off and sunk without a trace!!. Having read reviews I purchased a voucher deal, 29.00 for food allegedly 67.00 and looked forward to the visit. Nothing could be further from the truth. We were handed the lunch/ pre theatre menu and informed that this was all that was available. This costs normally approx 15.00pp and no where near the 67.00 . Disappointed I was happy to pay for the supplements, again advertised as part of the deal. This time I was told they were only available at night!! So in reality I paid the normal price for an average lunch. The restaurant had also overbooked as there was only 1 waitress for 24 people , so this affected our service as she coped valiantly and was left to explain to several diners that the deal we had purchased was not available. The food was nothing special and there are other places nearer the town centre or west end which offer tastier food, non cramped dining where diners can listen intimately to other conversations and finally better value where you actually get what you think you are buying. Mis-selling at best , total con at the opposite extreme I am taking this up with the vendor of the voucher. As a regular diner who eats out 6-8 times a month this was my first and last visit to The Cabin definatly . A near 40 mile round trip For a wasted night
Delicious food, well cooked. Friendly, intimate dining, served by the chef himself on quieter nights. A la carte, lunch & pre-theatre menus available. No need to book well in advance.
The Cabin. This is an amazingly friendly restaurant. Small (50 seats total) and cosy, it’s like being in someone’s house for your lunch or dinner. Honest and beautifully cooked scottish food, the starters, mains and desserts were well presented and everyone enjoyed their meals. Not many staff, the owner Dennis does the floor and he is so friendly and cheerful. The other owner James is the chef and seems to really enjoy his work.We would go back there anytime. It is slightly expensive but as a treat I would not hesitate to take friends, colleagues or family. You can bring your own wine, I would recommend this if you have a large party as it really would keep the cost down. This restaurant opened many years ago under the same name and is still going strong. I think it is Glasgow’s best kept secret. After dinner there is often singing which is a lovely way to end the evening. Book well in advance, it’s popular for a reason!
