The Smithy cafe stands centerpiece on the shoreline of Balfour Village - just 25 minutes by ferry from Kirkwall. Simple cooking, sourced from local producers on the island, and Orkney favourites from the mainland. Enjoy luxurious cakes and coffee, and head upstairs to the Heritage Centre for a unique insight into the island of Shapinsay. Re-opened in Summer 2015 under new management, we would be delighted to welcome you to the Smithy Cafe.
