Established in 1988 Successfully run by the previous owner until February 2013, when he was bought out by the current management. It is a friendly family run cafe/take away and catering service, that is focused on tasty, great value for money home cooked dishes. Menu items include but are not limited to, breakfasts, roast dinners, lasagne, curry and sandwiches. Not forgetting lovely coffee available as an Americano, Latte, Expresso or Cappuccino and of course Tea including herbal varieties and Hot Chocolate, as well as a range of cold beverages. Substantial changes have been made over the past few months, completely changing the cosmetic image of the cafe. It has brought the once dated appearance into a contemporary, comfortable, warm and friendly environment. The new look cafe is suitable for persons of all ages, and everyone is welcome. A great look to go with the great food. About Our Catering Services. It is our passion to provide fresh, delicious catering, from a choice of our set menus or through our bespoke service. We provide catering for all occasions and functions; including birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, funerals, corporate events and conferences. Delivered to your home or event location. Our days start early with the preparation of all the wholesome ingredients used to create foods that people will love to eat . From roasting the meats used in our sandwiches, to making the pizza and quiche, along with all other dishes. Our Chef is available to discuss your every need, and is happy to assist you to create the perfect menu for your event. From your very first call to the collection or delivery of your freshly prepared menu, we'll ensure your order is exactly what you want and is ready when you require it. All menus are served on returnable stainless steel platters and for your convenience comes complete with disposable plates and serviettes. Appropriate utensils are also provided if required. About Les Cox (Chef & Manager) Les has been working in the catering industry for the last 22 years. His first placement was Compass Catering, progressing to Chef de Partie at the Coed-y-Mwstwr before having the opportunity to serve the Welsh Rugby World Cup squad of 1999 at the Copthorne Hotel. Following this he became the 2nd Chef at Miskin Manor, before becoming the head chef at The Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, serving the Senior Ryder Cup players. Looking for a change of direction Les took on the head chef position at the Plough and Harrow serving gastropub food. Looking for more family time he took on the position at Tastebuds and is having positive reactions to the change of recipes now used at the cafe, and is looking to continue to add his own flair to items served, both in the cafe and in the catering services.
