If you’re familiar with quality sushi and are expecting to find that here, then you’re at the wrong place. Unfortunately its one of the only places close to campus. Its not bad, its just not particularly good. Ive found that the most people who really like it havent had any past experiences with good sushi (or any sushi). Most of the sushi menu has crab- which is pretty low quality when it comes to sushi. I highly reccommend the bento box with the sesame chicken- that is downright delicious. As far as service goes- its pretty terrible. The waiters/waitresses are college students and they’re nice but they just arent efficient.

This was a terrible attempt at Japanese food. The California roll had imitation crab meat, mushy avocado, and was very loosely rolled. If you have a peanut allergy, beware! Their salad dressing is peanut-sesame. Their nigiri sushi was a little warm and the pieces of fish were way too big. If you’re in town and you’re looking for a cool atmosphere, this is it. If you’re looking for good sushi, keep walking. This place does not have it.

I liked arigato when they opened and really believed they had the best sushi in town.. but they went downhill real quick. the sushi quality is just terrible now. the rolls now are hardly edible. they fall completely apart, and are in amount of fish given inside the actual roll is so little that there’s not much substance to the rolls except rice and all the toppings. I ordered 2 rolls the other day for pick up and ended up just throwing them out because they were awful. really disappointing but won’t be going back again.

I had to post a review because most of them are negative and this place is truly a great edition to Auburn cuisine. I can’t speak of their entres, but the sushi is always amazing. The staff always seems kind and obliging. I definitely recommend it as a great place to dine out in Auburn. Also, always be kind to and tip your waitresses or waiters. They rely on your kindness because most barely make 2$ an hour for the work they do.

Depressing and gross. I love sushi and Japanese food. But this place was bad. We walked in and the place reeked of old fish and bleach. We were the only customers there on a weekend during lunch. The music was so loud we had to yell over it to talk to the person next to us, and the atmosphere it set was extremely depressing (very emo type of music). The there wasn’t a single type of sushi that did not come with avocado spread on it or cucumber in it. When I asked the server (who was actually quite attentive) what their top sellers were, she suggested Lucky7 (I think that’s the correct name) and one other roll I did not order. Others at my table ordered yakisoba and teriyaki and we shared an order of gyoza for appetizers. The dough/wrapper they use for gyoza is more like fried biscuits with sausage than any japanese fried dumpling I’ve ever had. When my roll came out, it smelled awful (probably because they took raw tuna and avocado and smeared it on the outside of the roll and then blowtorched it for some unknown reason. The flavors were muddled and the entire roll had the texture of mush. The yakisoba my friend ordered had no flavor, was literally swimming in a pool of grease, and the chicken was rubbery and had a very unusual flavor that was unappetising to the table. The teriyaki that was ordered was also very greasy and extremely salty. The chicken was also rubbery and unappetising. In short, the meal was very disappointing (especially for the price), and the atmosphere made the experience difficult to enjoy.
