Pretty good place! I had the catfish, it was very good, my husband had a ribeye though and it wasn’t quite up to his standards. Very good salad bar. Great service. And if you go you MUST get the blackberry cobbler, it is the jam.
You get what you pay for… OK food. If you are wanting steak and actually know what a steak is supposed to be, you will be sadly disappointed. Very thin, chewy, overdone and overseasoned. Salad bar is ok. Staff is nice enough though and the place is clean. Weird hours though make it hard to find it open. If you just are looking for a cheap steak, go for it. I have heard their country fried steak is good…
Contrary to an earlier post, Good Ol Boys IS open and still serves high quality steaks at great prices. Home-style atmosphere, friendly service… All in all a wonderful experience.,
THE BEST Catfish Anywhere. Yes, their steaks are a great value when compared to what you get at other places. The steaks are tasty, tender, and you just can’t beat the price. But my favorite is their catfish with their house cornmeal breading. It was the first place I ever had catfish, but since then…20 years ago….I have never had it anywhere that even comes close to the goodness. Batter dipping catfish is, well, just wrong. Good Ol Boys does it just right, and I just love their hush puppies. So, if you have not tried it, and you like catfish….this is THE place. Once you have it, you won’t accept anything else. It’s THAT good.
Good for the money. This is a good place to go to get an adequate steak at an extremely affordable price. If you are looking for a lot of bells and whistles, forget it. 16 oz Ribeye for $12.99. You get what you pay for and I did not set my expectations high.
Service was decent. Our waitress Jenny was very nice. I ordered a rare steak that was cooked to the right temperature, but was really bland. The potato wedges were certainly nothing to write home about, and the Texas toast was ok. The atmosphere was decent, not my cup of tea, but definitely not the worst I’ve eaten at. Overall, not impressed.
Really bad experience!. Really awful steak! The dining manger was extremely rude when we requested another steak. It was totally scorched and tasted bitter. We have been customers for over 15 years but we will NOT be returning. I am still shocked at how the manager spoke to us!
