Great BBQ, Good Price, One of my regulars. I eat there about once a week. It is very good BBQ. If you go there for lunch, you better get there before noon if you want to beat the crowd. The 1/2 chicken is my favorite. I highly recommend trying it!
1/2 Chicken, potato salad, Brunswick stew. Soooo good!!!!
Sweet tea out of a garbage can! What’s not to love – great family place, delicious bbq, and authentic Alabama charm. We go see Mike & Ed’ s every time we’re in town. Go, eat, enjoy!
Fantastic ribs. My timing on going to this place is godawful. Seriously, seemingly every time I want to go here they’re out of ribs. I generally don’t care to eat dinner before 7:30 though, so considering how delicious their ribs are it’s not surprising.I LOVE their BBQ Stew as well. Very meaty, and for lighter eaters it could be a meal on its own. You could definitely eat the ribs without any sauce. I tend to eat half of my ribs with just the dry rub on em. But thankfully they’ve got the hickory sauce that couples amazingly with the ribs. Don’t drown em though. You don’t need to. Pour a thin layer over the side of the rib, and enjoy! And if you’re in the mood for desert, the peanut butter pie is pretty tasty in its own right. The tea is pretty good as well, but as someone who keeps a pitcher of homemade tea in the fridge at all times, making a tea that makes me want to drink it more than my own is near impossible. No exception here, but it’s definitely worth having if you’re there.
Brunswick Stew is the best I’ve EVA had. I love this place! Be sure to try the hot and hickory sauces on your sandwich. RIBS ARE AMAZING! NOM NOM NOM.
Ordered the pork plate with 2 sides. Sides were potato salad and curly fries and chose to have chopped BBQ. Sides were some of the best ever from a BBQ place. BBQ was ok but have had better. Wife ordered Brunswick stew and it was phenomenal. One of the best places to eat in the Loveliest Village on the Plains.
Fast, easy, tasty. I tried Ed’s for lunch for the first time today and it was pretty good. Medium sized space, clean, quick service. I tried the shredded pork with 2 sides, along with all 3 bbq sauces. The potato salad was good, the slaw was ok, the pork wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was nice and tender and lean. Two of the sauces are mustard based (mild and hot) and the 3rd is hickory, which I thought tasted best on the meat. I’d like to try the ribs and some of the other offerings so I’ll go back if I’m in the area.
