WOW. My husband and I occasionally dine at this location and I must say out of all of our experiences tonight was overall the best. From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted and welcomed by a cheerful staff (which usually never happens). As soon as we sat down at a table our waitress (Sherita) immediately came over with menus and introduced herself and offered drinks and appetizers right away.(Finally a server with knowledge of the menu) We ordered a bottle of wine because she informed us that tonight was 1/2 off bottles of wine and fried pickles for an appetizer. Also I must say we received our wine at reasonable time (kudos to the bartender). For our entrees we ordered a Mushroom & Swiss Burger and the famous Billy’s Chicken w/ Jack Cheese Sandwiched and it was delicious!!! (My compliments to the chef!!!) We were even offered dessert but were too full from the appetizer and dinner. Sherita could not locate the manager which I’m pretty sure it was due to how busy they were at the time and informed us about this website. So great job Billy’s!!! Keep up the good work!!!! Will return very soon.
Horrible. chicken is dry. service is slow. my lunch took 25 mins to come to the table. amazing they stay in business.
Best place. Have had awesome service, the fact that the food is fresh and never frozen, cooked to order is awesome. The atmosphere makes it more that home than a sports grill. On thursday nights $1 drinks and no cover for anyone makes it worth the tired fridays at work. There is something here for both my kids, husband and myself which is hard to find a place that we all enjoy.. keep up the great work billys crew!!
Good food, terrible service. It’s always how it has been. Great atmosphere, for 20+ years. The horrible service is laughed and joked about in the community, yet people still keep returning. With good, or even halfway decent service, this place would be fantastic.
My husband and I have lived here in Alabama for maybe 6 months! And every time we go out to eat we receive horrible service! We don’t even look forward to going out to eat now because our experience has been so horrible every time. Last Friday when we came here. Our food came out on time, our food tasted amazing and not only that, our sweet little waitress, Dallas, I believe her name was, she was on too of everything. Our drinks barely reached half way and she was asking if we needed a refill! She came and asked how our food tasted soon after she dropped off our entrees! It was all around a great experience! I wish every time we went out to eat it was this accommodating! We loved it! We will return to try many more items on the menu. The fish tacos were delicious! This is a great place to relax and get excellent service! So glad to have a good dinner with my husband! And to leave happy!! Will be back!
Great food, great location, great atmosphere. I’ve been coming to Billy’s for a long time now. It’s a great place to hang out and watch whichever game is playing. The food is always great and I love the neighborhood bar and grill atmosphere. It’s also kid friendly, which has been a big bonus for us! We stopped in last week for a family lunch and a cute blonde waitress was so friendly and helpful! Overall, it was a great experience and we’ll definitely keep coming back.
Worst service ever. I went to Billy’s for lunch with 3 others. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato sandwich – what had to be the simplest thing on the menu to make. After two of the people got their salads (twice) and then all 3 got their entrees I thought the server went to get my sandwich, but she came back to fill our drinks and I had to point out to her I hadn’t gotten my meal. She said sorry and went off and came back a bit later to say it had not been turned in and said she was sorry again. I said that was ok and I waited…and waited…and waited. Finally, as the other people at the table were finishing their meals and she was bringing other tables their food, I asked her if I was still getting my food – thinking she might have accidentally cancelled it. She said it was coming and she was sorry again. By now, it had been over an hour since we arrived at the restaurant and 30 minutes since the others had gotten their food. After a while, the server came back and cleared the other people at my table’s dishes and I had to ask her again about my sandwich. Again – she said she was sorry – it wasn’t up yet. I was already late getting back to work plus I had to meet a plumber at my house, so I couldn’t wait any longer and to top it off – the server didn’t seem to have any idea how much longer it would be to make me a grilled cheese sandwich. I told her to cancel the order. The server must have told me she was sorry a dozen times – she told me again as I was walking out the door without having gotten any lunch – but that just made it worse. Things go wrong and people make mistakes – it is how you handle something after the mistake has been made that determines who you are or, in this case, what kind of establishment you have. Billy’s failed miserably on that count and I won’t be back.
