Great place. We go here during lunch break and service is outstanding…food is great and this place is clean. everyone in service is warm and no empty tea glass. don’t forget to get your dinner (blue) card stamped…7th meal is free! taking mom there for moms day..yes, it’s that good!
My husband and I got some takeout tonight and it was pretty good. Husband got tacos al pastor, a favorite of his. Juicy skirt steak on corn tortillas with a spicy salsa verde, diced onions, and cilantro on the side. It was a nice traditional meal. I got a veggie combo with rice, beans, bean burrito, and a cheese enchilada. Everything tasted fresh… But something caught me off guard. The red sauce covering the burrito and enchilada. Someone was VERY heavy on the sugar. I could’ve handled a drizzle but they ladeled it on. This was quickly balanced out by the tangy, salty salsa verde. I’m used to a zesty, savory ranchero sauce. It was the only thing I didn’t like, but it didn’t ruin my meal. I should also mention the red salsa. I personally love cilantro, but in addition to cilantro they used Mexican oregano in the salsa! No one around here does that! Mexican oregano is a must for enchilada sauce, but it was a pleasant surprise to have it my salsa with chips. Thanks for the nice dinner, hacienda azul!
Loved It!!. Went to Hacienda last night for dinner and was very happy with the service and the food. Wife and I ordered the Hacienda Burrito and it was HUGE! Either bring your appetite or share it, because there’s plenty. And it was SO good! Our daughter had the Chicken Chimi and she said it was great too. The complimentary salsa and chips were really good. Staff was very nice and service was fast. Prices were reasonable also. Overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend it. If we get to travel to Dothan again, I will definitely be back.
Muy! Delicioso!!. What mexican food from a restaurant should taste like! I have lived in southern California and Texas and visited New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Mexico and not just the tourist places. I mention all that just to say I have had all different kinds of mexican food, real mexican food Awesome mexican food and this is as close to real and delicious mexican food you will find in a restaurant. I had the blanco queso it was good the chips were thin I have never had them so thin before and I likey! the salsa had some kick too much for the kids but they loved the cheese dip so they were happy. I ordered the mixed fajitas I really wanted a shrimp chimichanga but they didn’t have that and my runner up on the menu didn’t come with beans and rice so I got the fajitas. The mix was shrimp chicken and steak and my only complaint was it could have had more meat there was an overwelming amount of onions and peppers and not enough meat but the taste of each meat was good and they were cooked well. The rice and beans were good not bland or runny like I have had from some other places. The baby couldn’t get enough of the beans and rice and I had to order a side of both just so I could eat them. The chicken quesadilla was good and as was the fish taco. Not really anything bad except the wait we went on a sunday around noon and had to wait a while for the food it wasn’t crowded and I am used to mexican food coming super fast like the cooks can read your mind and as soon as you sit down your food is being brouhgt to the table, the food made up for that, well worth the wait. I do hope they add more items to the menu, but as it is I would still go back again and again. Oh yeah the outside of the building looks like it was a mexican restaurant no real signage I almost drove past it even though the gps said I reached my destination I wasn’t so sure but maybe they are remodeling the outside either way don’t let the outside put you off because what’s inside is amazing!
This place is a gem! It’s very clean and family owned. Menu selection is traditional Mexican fare. Chips are light and served hot. The salsa is nice with a hint of grill spice in the background. The service is excellent.
Beyond expectations. I was in Dohan from out of town and decided to find a restaurant using Restaurant.com since I had some credit. The place in decorated inside in an old Mexican style which totally works and is immaculate, not dingy like most local Mexican restaurants. The service was totally outstanding. Needing a drink is my biggest pet peeve and I never had to ask.. The food portions were perfect and best yet…the food tasted like heaven. If I lived in this area I would frequent this place. I cannot recommend it enough. Go here with NO worries. When going to a non-chain restaurant I can never help wondering what Gordon Ransay would say if he came in. He would search for issues..but he would have to say this place pretty much rocks.
Great food and service. The food here is fabulous and the service is exceptional! Great salsa with warm chips was the start to a great meal. Do not pass up the cheese dip. The owners are very hands on and really take pride in the food they serve. This has to be one of the best values in Dothan.
