Typical Gulf Coast fried seafood spot. Not bad, food’s decent. Crawfish pistols are good. Swamp soup’s pretty good. I ordered the OMG shrimp po-boy, it’s huge, served with fries, two people could split and be full.I’ve been here twice and the service was slow both times.
Disappointed with customer service. The waitress was sweet but did not accomodate is as needed. Our food did not come to our table until 45 to 50 minutes after we ordered. The waitress explained 15 minutes into our wait that 3 tables were ahead of us, but after counting more than 5 tables receiving their food no other explanations were given except for periodic apologies whenever the waitress made it back to our table. Meanwhile a table of people who were waiting just as long as us were given a detailed explanation of the wait and offered 25 percent off their meal. The waitress was nice enough to give us a funnel cake to go as desert. However, our request to receive 25 percent was denied as we checked out. We were really excited about visiting this restaurant for the first time but our experience brought our night down. The food was good but the lady up front who ignored our request was rude. We just wanted the same allowance as the next table because we had sat and waited nicely just as long as they did. We won’t be going back and plan on telling all of our friends and family about our experience.

First they sent out a little cup of swamp soup, basically greens and beans, it was incredible. The taste was great. There was so much shrimp that splitting the sandwich wasn’t a problem at all! After that, thy brought us each a little slice of cake that was so moist and delicious! We will def come back again!
Best Burger around; the Cheese Burger and Patty Melt are tops. Put’s a lot of places to shame. Cleaner that Desotos that’s for sure……..
Have always liked everything I’ve ever ordered here, until yesterday. I ordered the Redneck Reuben sandwich and didn’t care for it. There was nothing wrong with it, just wasn’t my idea of a Reuben. It had American cheese instead of Swiss, and there was no 1000 Island dressing on it. And the corned beef had been pan fried or something, as it was crunchy. Strange.
Underwhelmed. This is a few minutes down the road from my place. Have seen their ad on late night television so many times that it is impossible to estimate a number. The fact I dropped by for a meal may be a testimony to the power of advertising. The interior is very large and it is carved up with dividing walls at about neck level. The menu is clearly written by hand. Wasn’t in the mood for their signature burger, so ordered a Reuben sandwich with fries. The sandwich was average and the fries were borderline crispy. Would have been better if they had stayed in the fryer for another minute or two. A third FRG is scheduled to open no later than mid-February 2015 in the former City Grill space. This is in the Rouse shopping center at the intersection of Hwy 59 and Fort Morgan Road, in Gulf Shores. It will surely be a better looking space, yet doubt the food will be significantly upgraded.One weird thing is there were glass jars of what I took to be salad dressing or perhaps home made mayo next to the cash register. It was some kind of body lotion. Expressed surprise at this, and the cashier said this product is carried by many local area restaurants. Maybe. I’ve been to more than 100 in the past two years, and have never seen this in any other eatery.
I recommend this place to a lot of people. Very good. Priced right and good quality fresh seafood and great burgers. Where the locals eat is an accurate description.
