Went in for a bite with friends after shopping at Tanger Outlets. The place was very clean and there’s a hallway leading to The Squashed Grape. We browse around for only a few minutes before our food was served. We cut up our sandwiches and each got a taste of the Chicken Salad, the Ham & Turkey Pesto and the Turkey Bacon Blitz sandwiches. They were all good but my favorite had to be the Turkey Bacon Blitz. A good spot for a bite after some serious shopping.
Eaten here a few times since it opened. Started out great but hasn’t stayed consistent. Bread has been stale the last couple of times we’ve eaten here and the quality of their product is slipping. Can’t see paying money for sub par products.
Quality Deli Offerings. Was pleasantly surprised to learn this famous producer of ham also owns restaurants. They opened one in Foley this week, and I enjoyed a very good Tavern Club sandwich on multigrain brown bread. Also sampled their potato salad which had small chunks of bacon, and lacked the pickled relish that mars virtually all of the potato salad I’ve sampled in this area. The potato chips are in small bags, not made fresh. A number of items are available for takeout. I’m looking forward to a return visit to sample other menu items. The smallish building is shared with Smashed Grape, a wine store that has a promising selection. Chatted a bit with the owner, Nancy, who promises a grand opening celebration in the near future and regular sampling events down the road. If you like wine, Google them to access their Website.
