Stopped in to get something cool while driving through the summer traffic. It was cool inside and clean. I ordered a mango-pineapple-watermelon frozen drink and traffic wasn’t so bad with something good to sip all the way home.

Just stopped in and had a peach gelati. Frozen custard should be rich, dense and firm. This custard it’s very light and fluffy almost like whip cream. Italian ice was good. Didn’t like the frozen custard at all.
Cold Treats. Became familiar with Rita’s a couple of years back when I was living in South Jersey, a short distance east of Philadelphia. There were two or three in the area, and they were only open seasonally, on roughly the same schedule as the many hot dog and root beer stands (which I really miss) in that area. The vanilla custard is thick, with a very rich taste. Am not a fan of any types of ices, but they do have a few gelato offerings, that I will try down the road. A decent variety of shakes are also available. There are two small tables and about a half-dozen pub-style tables with high stools. The store is located in a strip mall directly across the street from the entrance to the Tanger Outlet Center. The traffic light will be very useful for departing when Hwy 59 is jammed with seasonal traffic.
