We recently visited the restaurant in Gulf Shores. It was delicious! We had the chargrilled oysters which are always so good. Some had the fish ponchatrain which was very good and some had po boys which were also enjoyed because they use a softer roll. We had the BEST server named Clayton I think. He was so kind, efficient, and kept is very happy. We will be back again and hopefully get to sit with Clayton!

Best restaurant ever! The floor plan is spacious, the staff is both friendly and efficient, and the food was the best I’ve ever eatin. Gave serious thought to moving to Mobile, just so I could eat here regularly.

Got seated and waiter asked for drinks. Mountain dew. 5 mins later brings drink and drinks for two other tables. Took order and then takes a party of 5 order. Guess who gets food first. 4 ozs of roast beef no gravy .waiter brought out BROWN gravy roast beef was pot roast . should roast the beef and then slice it. Simmer in gravy and then put on bun then put lettuce and tomato and onion and pickles. You get 2 dill chips only ,save money that way .fries were cold. Not a place to get a po boy hope the other food is better.

I’ve eaten at the original in New Orleans, and this restaurant suggests many of the same dishes and aces many of the flavors. On the other hand, this restaurant isn’t THAT one, either. We were quickly seated, and our server was attentive without being annoying, apparently a vest improvement over the service when it first opened. I have serious gluten allergies, and my son is Celiac. Gluten-free items are clearly marked. There are only a few main dishes (grilled chicken and seafood, as well as red beans and rice and jambalaya), and some salads, but they have a dedicated fryer for fries, and most of the sides are GF. We didn’t order oysters, but there are a variety of oyster options at the bar, as well. If they are anything like NOLA, they’ll adjust their grilled oyster recipe to accommodate food allergies. Our waitress suggested non-GF items a couple of times, but she was quick to apologize, when she realized they were not GF. My son and I both had grilled tuna, which was excellent, and my wife and younger son both had jambalaya. The jambalaya was very good, though it lacked something that the NOLA version has. I don’t drink often, but the Voo Doo Mary (spicy top shelf Bloody Mary) sounded great, and it was very good, too. The tuna was market price, and we paid $14.95 for approx 10 oz tuna steak and two sides, and that’s a good price, anywhere. The jambalaya was just jambalaya, no sides or anything, and I believe it was $11.95. I was less-impressed with that price. Just estimating from my wife’s plate, it looked like 2-2 cups of jambalaya. I would definitely return, but I don’t think they match NOLA for flavor or value (I think the portions are a bit larger there, as well) for every dish. On the other hand, what we had was very good, and we knew before we went that this wasn’t a cheap hole in the wall!

Great grilled oysters. The cost is no more than other restaurants and the oysters are some of best I’ve tasted. Other things on the menu are really good. Love the ettoufe and shrimp tacos. Favorite appetizer is the boom-boom shrimp. Sometimes I just get that and salad. People are really nice.
