Abby Ridley Davis and I had lunch for the first time at Desoto’s last Thursday. It is locally owned and highly recommended often. We found the wide variety offered everyday for lunch at $7.99 including iced tea to be a real value. I had the two fried pork chop option with two sides, and Abby had a veggie plate. The waitress was very knowledgeable about what was fresh, and what was canned. We also loved the fact that they serve endless hot homemade rolls and butter at lunch. A feature all but eliminated at most local restaurants .As locals, we also appreciated that they did not wipe out all the good deals from Spring break through September, as is common here. So now we have added Desoto’s to our lunch favorites. FORT MORGAN SUPPER CLUB will do a dinner review later this year.

Great coconut shrimp. Friendly, but slow service. Did not care for the dipping sauce with the shrimp. Wife had the crab cakes…nothing special and they were a little dark….overdone! Probably would not go back or recommend.

I had the shrimp poboy and it was very good. The server was outstanding. Very quick and friendly. We had three 3 year olds and a one year old. Our server was amazing she handled everything. Palva is the main reason I would go back.

Made a quick decision to try this place after leaving the beach. We enjoyed it. We convinced our youngest to get fish sticks instead of the kids cheeseburger and she ate it all (with a little help from the rest of us who had to try it as well). Hubby had the shrimp poboy (yum) and I had salad and bisque. The bisque had small shrimp which surprised me because most soups I’ve had have been pured.

If you want some of the best no frills, great tasting seafood on the gulf, this is your place. Always good food with better than average portions. If the cobia is available, order it! They prepare it excellent and in several ways.

The kitchen was flooding. There I am eating crab cakes and my feet look like they’re darn near covered in water. Couldn’t believe it. Will never go back. Thanks a lot desotos.

Decent food. Portions are too small, price is too high. Had scallop fettuccine Alfredo and the scallops were very small and tasteless. Small serving of pasta. Also had the bread pudding which was mediocre.
